The Plough has served the citizens of Leverstock Green and beyond as long as anyone can remember. It has adopted various guises over the years including a Schooner Inn, a Bernie Inn, a Beefeater and more recently, Charles Wells managed house. The Plough has no intention of becoming a ‘gastro-pub’. Our idea is to serve simple food well. We are a pub and we believe that a quiet pint is one of life’s pleasures. We try and create an adult environment which is great for conversation, sociable drinks and catching up with friends. We welcome children over the age of 12 when dining with the adults inside; however, younger children are restricted to the garden area. The Plough is in the process of building a great reputation for cask ale. It has been recognised in the local press and by Cask Marque, an organisation that maintains standards in the industry nation-wide. The Plough has a historical link with fine steaks and this is being revived. New suppliers, Buswells of Brackley have been secured and The Plough now offers premium steaks once more. The Plough believes in sourcing as much food as possible locally. Fish is supplied by Westons of Boxmoor, and bread from the Village bakery in Leverstock Green. Food is served between the following times: Monday - Saturday: 12 noon - 2:30pm, and 6pm - 9:30pm. Sunday: 12 noon - 9pm.
