Following a major refurbishment and a name change in early 2008, The HOGGET quickly established a reputation for cooking great food, serving excellent real ales and interesting wines in a relaxed and informal pub restaurant. We source outstanding ingredients from excellent local suppliers and cook properly good food! We also pride ourselves in the quality of beers and wines on offer. We work hand in hand with Marstons to deliver real ales of a very high and consistent quality as well as Bibendum who are able to provide some very exciting wines from the new world as well as the old. Having previously won awards for the quality and consistency of our food in other pubs, most notably The Vine at Hambledon, Hampshire, we took on the challenge of The HOGGET. Having previously been known as The Dorchester Arms, the HOGGET needed to open a fresh chapter. We decided to change the name and give it a fresh look to give it that kick start - we're very proud of the results and we hope we can go on to look after Hook and the surrounding villages for years to come. BREAKING NEWS!!!
The Michelin ‘Eating Out In Pubs’ Guide 2010 has included The HOGGET as one of its top destinations in Hampshire. We’re all incredibly proud to have achieved this. AWARD: We're very proud to have won the Best Major Refurbishment of the Year 2008 at the annual Marstons Pub Company Pub of the Year Awards. Cheers from
