The Railway inn is located on Queen Street, Honiton, in one of Honitons historic buildings. In the early 19th Century at the height of the industrial revolution, The Railway Inn was built as a drinking place for the railway workers building the railway line from Exeter to London. The building seems to have retained its original status through out its life however its owners have had some colourful sidelines as attached to the pub was a fighting club and workshops as well as a funeral directors. Given the area and the building's rich history, it was important to retain those historic qualities which were left in the building as well as to relate the design to the locality and the history of the area. The wall colours are muted to highlight features such as the fireplaces and lounge sitting area. In its new form, we have created a warm and relaxed environment where the emphasis is on good quality food with real ales and a welcoming atmosphere. The Railway also offers superb town centre conference facilities well suited for a broad range of business meetings and located conveniently for almost any business in the South West.
